Supporting The Parenting Network
“I was terrified about becoming a mom . . . the Welcome, Baby! program gave me a ton of resources – but mostly, confidence.”
These are the words of just a few of nearly 2,000 parents who participated in classes or groups facilitated by The Parenting Network during the past year. Knowing that one program cannot meet the needs of every parent, we serve specific parent populations including:
- grandparents raising grandchildren
- parents of newborns
- adolescent parents
- parents of spirited children
- divorcing parents
- incarcerated parents
The best way to prevent child abuse and neglect in our community is through supporting and educating parents. With a budget of $883,600, The Parenting Network served more than 8,500 families in 2010 – in homes, in schools, in the community, and via the Parent Helpline. At approximately $100 per family, agency services are cost-effective in providing critical services to parents and providing the necessary tools to strengthen their capacity to parent effectively.
Child abuse is preventable – and we need your help. Please consider a year-end gift to support The Parenting Network’s prevention programs.
