CHILD CARE STAFF TRAINING

The Parenting Network provides REGISTRY approved continuing education training. Staff register for training using TPN’s web-based system that requests information including Registry number and the name of the day care center where they are employed. TPN would like to affiliate with childcare providers in the City of Milwaukee who are looking for Staff Training and/or Parent Training opportunities. Affiliated childcare centers will be eligible for a $16 per staff reimbursement when a staff member attends TPN training. The reimbursement goes to the affiliated center based on the number of staff who successfully complete the REGISTRY approved training. Funding is limited for this reimbursement opportunity. Child Care Staff Training topics include:

Stewards of Children with Mandated Reporter refresher; 3 hours

Period of Purple Crying/Shaken Baby/AHT prevention; 2 hours

Triple P: Helping Your Child Reach Their Full Potential; 2 hours

Triple P: Enhancing Self Esteem; 2 hours

Triple P:Dealing with Disobedience; 2 hours

Bringing the Five Protective Factors to Life in your Work; Up to 12 hours

The Parenting Network will also host Parent Engagement events at affiliated childcare centers welcoming all parents. TPN will provide an Accredited Triple P facilitator/coach to lead one time parent events at the childcare center, based on the interest area of their parents. Workshops are available in Spanish or English. Topics include: Taming Temper Tantrums, Balancing Work and Family, Toilet Training, Coping with Stress, What is Positive Parenting? Raising Resilient Children, and more.
